MARIA AND THE GUMMY BEAR ACROBATS
Angela Li
Once, there lived a little six-year-old girl named
Maria Magdalena. One day, on Maria’s birthday, she got a giant pack of gummy
bears. She found out they were alive and living! After that, she noticed that
when she had her back turned, the gummy bears were stretching and doing
acrobat-like stunts. “Hey, I’m really good at that! I could teach you a few
moves; and maybe have you guys as a class?” Maria asked. “Oh, that would be
great, thanks!” said an orange gummy bear.” It would be my pleasure. Let’s
start after dinner,” suggested Maria. All the gummy bears agreed.
When Maria started classes, she thought it was too
hard, trying to teach a giant mob of gummy bears acrobatic things in such a
small space. “Would you bears mind if we did classes at my school instead of
here? I think it’s too stuffy in here. There’s a field at school where we can do
everything. How about that?” she asked one day. “That was what all we gummies
were just thinking! We just didn’t think it was nice to ask you to find us a
new place to learn!” three gummy bears (one yellow, two red) admitted. “Oh,
well, now I know, and you didn’t have to tell me!”
Maria discovered giving lessons at school were even
harder. Everybody didn’t seem to know that Maria’s gummy bears were alive.
Instead, they thought they were edible! Yes, they were still edible, but they
just didn’t taste right. Maria had to find a new place to do her things, or
else her friends would try to eat the gummies.
In the middle of lunch, Maria thought of something.
She heard someone say basement. Basement! Maria’s basement was the perfect
place! When Maria got home, she tried teaching her gummy bear class. Perfect!
The gummies continued to work hard, and one day, Maria entered them in a
contest for groups of acrobats. They won the five hundred dollar prize! Maria
shouted, “Yippee, for the gummy bears!”
