Filippe Scerbo

Filippe Scerbo completed his undergraduate degree in Physical Education and Health at the University of Toronto in 2005, and his MSc in the Exercise Sciences Graduate Department at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Professor Guy Faulkner. Filippe’s interests are primarily in substance addiction and the role of exercise in mediating the cravings for (and use of) such substances. At present, his research focuses primarily on how different modes and intensities of exercise influence mood and cravings to smoke among those smokers who are trying to quit. He has received funding from the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit and the Canadian Tobacco Control Research Initiative to support this work. Filippe is currently the research coordinator for the FRESH START relapse prevention programme for postpartum women.
