Matt Kwan

Originally from the Stampede city (Calgary), his first stop in his academic career led him to the southern Alberta city of Lethbridge, in which he completed his undergraduate studies in the Kinesiology program in 2004. After graduating with a Bachelor degree, his next stop brought him to the great “steel city”. Matt spent the next two years as a Master’s student at McMaster University, working under the supervision of Dr. Steven Bray. Following a year on hiatus - teaching and traveling around Southeast Asia, Matt has recently moved up the QEW to join the Exercise Psychology Unit at the University of Toronto. His research interests are primarily related to the determinants of physical activity particularly in the transition from high school into university. Other interests include group influences on sport and exercise, impacts of physical education programs, and the decline in participation in organized sport.
