Wayne deRuiter

Spending the majority of his life in the Niagara Region, Wayne deRuiter attended Brock University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Community Health Sciences. Two years later, Wayne returned to Brock University and graduated with a Masters of Science degree in Applied Health Sciences. Under the guidance of Dr. Guy Faulkner, Wayne is currently a Ph.D candidate in the Faculty of Physical Education and Health at the University of Toronto . Furthermore, Wayne is part-time lecturer for Clinical Epidemiology as well as a teaching assistant for Human Anatomy at Brock University . Wayne 's current research focuses on screening, preventing, and identifying risk factors of specific types of cancer including prostate and lung cancers; and the role of physical activity in harm reduction and smoking cessation.
