Hamid Reza Salimi-Jazi, PhD

Biography

HAMID REZA SALIMI-JAZI graduated from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) with B.Sc. (1994) and M.Sc. (1999) in Materials Science and Engineering Department. His B.Sc. project involved a computational study of Gating and Risering design for steel castings and his M.Sc. thesis was concentrated on deposition and characterization of diamond coating on Si and tool inserts (WC/Co) by HFCVD. His PhD thesis focused on Near-net Shape Forming of Ti-6-4 alloy and composite, reinforced with B4C by Vacuum Plasma Spraying , VPSF, under supervision of Professor J. Mostaghimi and Tom W. Coyle in the Centre for Advanced Coating Technologies at the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department, University of Toronto. He received his PhD degree in 2005. He is a post doctroral fellow at the Centre for Advanced Coating technologies (CACT), University of Toronto. His current project is focused upon Zirconia coatings for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells materials in a collaboration with the CACT, University of Toronto and GE Global Research, USA.
