Hasn’t talked to
either parent since it was they who turned her over to the Psi-Corps when
she was 21. She hasn’t forgiven her parents for this act of betrayal since.

-Early Childhood Her early family life was wonderful. She spent a lot of time attending her parents classes and lectures as child. This developed her urge for knowledge and developed her sense of curiosity. Grew up in Oxford England. Traveled internationally with her parents on lecture circuit. Her parent’s relationship was okay. Being a couple of Profs, their children and their studies came first, in that order. Della was very close to her sister Julia, however. Her Childhood interests were driven by insatiable curiosity. She tried to learn everything she could, including people’s secrets (A la Harriet the Spy). As a child her spy like abilities got her into a lot of trouble. Her other interests included gymnastics, ballet and playing the piano (keyboards). -Development (teen years and early adult). Being curious, she became involved in everything, from drugs (not to any great degree, just experimented), booze, and sex. Being a cute little thing, she was a bit of a party animal (the boys really liked her a lot!). If there was something new and/or interesting to do, she’d try it. She developed a keen interest in the human psyche and to that end pursued and completed all degree requirements for a B.A. in Psychology. Because of her parents she also had an interest in History and that’s what she took as a Minor. Her parents contacted the Psi-Corps as she was finishing up her degree and was taken away for training and testing. She was therefore unable to pick up her degree at Graduation. -Adulthood Despite her partying, she did really well at school, unknowingly using her Psi abilities. As in her early teens, she tried everything to simply experience it ie, bungee jumping, 0-gee sex and other less strenuous physical pastimes, and any other thrill-seeking activities. She was taken by Psi-Corp at 21 and her training begun. With her good knowledge of history and an overwhelming sense of curiosity, she soon discovered the worst aspects of Psi-Corps. After 3 years of service, training and experimentation (?), she managed to escape at the age of 24. Making her way off-planet she fled
to Mars and from there got herself lost in myriad criminal circles that
kept her moving further and further away from Earth. At the age of 26 she
fell in with the Aragorn Pirates after catching the eye of their leader
Karnak, during a routine meeting between her current boss, Thomas, and
Karnak’s band. Karnak was impressed by both her good looks and Admin abilities.
A month later, Thomas was dead and Karnak was in charge of all the operations.
It was to Karnak’s great delight that Della was a powerful Psionic. Though
he took advantage of this talent, he also found in her someone who he could
confide in. Her secret would never be betrayed by him and she in turn would
never betray any of his, for if either did, it would mean death for both
of them. As time went on, they found themselves falling in love with eachother.
Della, easily bored, was experiencing the longest relationship she had
ever had. Karnak was a diverse character, which presented no end of fascination
for Della. Though an older man, he was powerful in stature and presence.
He was able to frighten and cow the most ruthless and cold blooded of killers
and then be the most gentlest of lovers to Della. In Aug of 2256, when
forces from the league of Non-Aligned Worlds attacked, Della’s life was
turned upside down. It had only been through Karnak’s teaching and vast
experience, that allowed her to get through the raid on the base with some
semblance of equanimity and a real chance at surviving. She was 28.
