Engineering Design

Web Server - NEW (Next Eternity Web Server)

Date: January 2006 - April 2006 (2nd semester, 2nd Year, Communication and Design Final Project, U of T)

Description: Implementing a Web server in UNIX/Linux using C++ with two other developers. Server extensions included Handling of various content types, Virtual Web Hosting, Automatic Pathname Extension, Dynamic Content Handling, Dynamic Thread Management (Multithreading), Load Balancing (Clustering), Multi-Thread Load Generator, and Logging all related configuration issues. The project was graded 100% successful by course staff.

 

The Bus Arbiter

Date: December 2005 (1st semester, 2nd Year, Digital Systems / System Design & Technical Communication Final Project, U of T)

Description: A multi-stage system that slightly mimics the arbitration protocol of several prioritized devices sending information across a bus to their respective memory modules. Designed on Altera Quartus II, and implemented on the Altera Flex10K FPGA within a three week time constraint.

Date: November 2005 (1st semester, 2nd Year, Digital Systems / System Design & Technical Communication Final Project, U of T)

Description: Design project of a team of 4 members consisting of a lego-constructed motorized message transmission device to transfer a signal of 32 bits from one Ultragizmo board to another within 60 seconds/symbol.

 

The Human Barefoot Sensor with Walters Forensic Engineering Inc. (Final Design Specification)

Date: April 2005 (2nd semester, U of T, Engineering Strategies and Practices II Course)

Description: Final report for a design project with four team members, to design a 'Human Barefoot Sensor' which will test slippage on a  wet floor while walking barefoot, as an add-on to the ‘English XL’ slip-tester for Walters Forensic Engineering Inc., a company situated in downtown Toronto.

o     For further development, the sponsor has selected one out of the four materials found after extensive testing using a self made device
