News!
I have finally landed in Ames and starting to set up my labs and offices with the amazing support of the MSE staff. I am actively recruiting enthusiastic PhD students and postdocs!!! Contact me if you are interested!!!
Our mission
My main objective is to help students become independent, creative, and successful problem-solvers, scientists, and professionals.
This goal will be accomplished by i) productively pursuing inventive and meaningful research at the boundaries of disciplines, ii) engaging students in the pursuit of technical skills as well as soft skills (e.g. leadership, time management, project management, stress reduction, communication, critical thinking), iii) enjoying the pursuit of truth, and the joy of discovery.
Our latest work
The electrical resistance of AgTS-S(CH2)n-1CH3//Ga2O3/EGaIn tunneling junctions
The experimental determination of the influence of the surface of EGaIn-based electrodes on the measurement of SAM-based molecular junctions.
Using shape for self-assembly
An invited review on the effects of shape on self-assembly of nanoscale objects
On the nature and importance of the transition between molecules and nanocrystals: towards a chemistry of “nanoscale perfection”
A perspective on the importance of the transition between molecularly-defined structures and nanocrystals, and its impact on perfection and complex chemical function.
