Blues Crowned 2002-2003 OUA Champions!
Toronto defeated York 8-3 in the Semifinals and dominated McMaster 10-1 in the Finals to earn their first
OUA Badminton Championship since 1997. Edith Chow was named the league's female MVP for a stunning 3rd year
in a row. Amy Mader and Stephen Lau were named Rookie's of the Year. Five Blues were voted onto the
All-Star team. They were Sam Lam, Stephen Lau, Edith Chow, Anca Gaspar, and Amy Mader. Congratulations to all!

Gold - University of Toronto
Silver - McMaster University
Bronze - University of Western Ontario

Blues Finish First Overall in Regular Season!
The Varsity Blues captured first place in the OUA regular season by winning all four ties in weekend competition.
They now have a first round bye in the OUA Championships on February 14-15 at Queen's.

Results from East Sectional #2
The Varsity Blues extended their perfect record against eastern conference rivals distancing
themselves from York with a convincing 8-3 victory and powering past Queen's and Ryerson capturing
10 of 11 matches in both ties.

2003 Ontario Cup Team Tournament
The Blues put forth a tremendous effort, finishing 5th out of ten teams in the tournament. The four teams that finished ahead of them
consisted largely of nationally ranked players.

The Varsity Blues started off the season in fine form, winning all three ties in the east sectional at York University. Their undefeated record places them in first place in the East!

Blues Legacy Fund Continues to Grow
Thanks to the generous contributions of alumni/ae and supporters, the Blues Legacy Fund now stands at $42,200. We are now more than halfway to our target of $73,160. The university will only be matching donations until December 31, 2002 or until their matching funds are used up.
