SATEC @ W.A. Porter C.I.

MCV4U1-03/06 – Calculus and Vectors - Grade 12 University Preparation

School Year 10-11 Semester 2

 Section 03 - Period 2 Room 230

Section 06 - Period 4 (Day 1) Room 230

Final Marks:

MCV4U1-03 (morning)

MCV4U1-06 (afternoon)

June 23:  This is it, folks!   This is your final mark.

Unfortunately the class average for the exam was only 41.2/71 for both classes combined.   The teachers have agreed to adjust the total so it is out of 69 instead.  (Sorry, I capped it off at 69 to those who got over… you know who you are.)

I also took the liberty of dropping your two lowest T marks and the lowest C mark from the term to help boost your marks a bit.

The final average for both classes is 70% which is still somewhat respectable.  I am sorry if that’s not the mark that you’d like but I did what I could without compromising the integrity of the course.

Mark Return day is Monday June 27 - 09:30-11:00 in Room 230.  You get to see how you did on your exam.  Exams are not to be taken out of the room.

Here is the parting speech:

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to sign everyone’s yearbook, but it had been a real pleasure to be part of your last semester life at SATEC.

You guys (both classes) were a great bunch. I had a lot of fun.  I am sure you could tell.  I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

It was my first time teaching this course (I am sure you could tell as well), so thanks for being patient with me.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.  I still can’t believe how fast the last 5 months have passed.  It seemed like yesterday that we had the snow day (I was re-learning the first principles definition at home).

Best of luck in your post-secondary studies and your future endeavours!  Keep up your great work and make SATEC proud!

For those of you who want to prepare for your first year Calculus during the summer, send me an e-mail.  I can send you some materials.

Have a great summer!  Keep in touch!  I will accept your request on July 1st! (given that you won’t pull a Daniel S) J
