Corey Kiassat

Corey Kiassat completed his Undergraduate Degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto followed by an MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University, majoring in Marketing and International Business. After graduation, he started an 11-year career with General Motors and worked in Canada and the United States. He held various positions responsible for such tasks as the design and start-up of new assembly lines, supervising production employees, increasing the efficiency of assembly lines, redesigning and improving machinery, production systems training and project management. He returned to the University of Toronto in September 2008 to pursue a PhD in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, with the eventual goal of an academic career. His expertise falls within Behavioral Operations Research as he analyzes the effect of human-related factors, such as skill, motivation, and working conditions, on performance of systems. Corey completed the PhD program in March 2013 and will start his academic career in August 2013 as an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, USA.
