No photos from day 8 or 9 but we got lots on day 10. And by lots we mean LOTS!
We finally got to hold the girls! Maddy is on a 6hr handling regime which means that they try to avoid messing with her except at 6am, noon, 6pm and midnight. That's mostly because of all the handling she gets during physio which requires her to have a small dose of morphine to help her remain comfortable through the pain. So they're trying to keep the amount of morphine she receives to a bare minimum.
Anyway both girls are progressing really well with their feeding increased and their vital signs showing marked improvements. Emma looks a little jaundiced but all the tests are coming back okay. If need be she might get a day under the bright lights to pep her up.
Mike finally gets to hold Emma! She put up a bit of a fuss until they turned her head the other way. It seems she prefers to sleep on her right side!
Nancy gets to Kangaroo cuddle Maddy! She settled down in an instant and was so relaxed. Even when they put her back in her crib she never flinched so it looks like this will be something we'll do as often as they let us.
Look at that cute little girl! She needs to fill out little so she isn't so wrinkly.
She really would prefer to sleep on her right side okay! Not even those whiskers faze her.
Now that's better! Wait till she starts grabbing more than her dad's finger........that'll bring a tear to his eyes!
The happy family all together.
