Here are the girls on day 41.
Madeline resting in her crib.
You can see how pale she's gotten, again. No blood transfusion for her just yet though. The NICU staff are hoping she'll begin producing her own blood cells and if they were to give her a transfusion it would inhibit her ability to do just that. So we wait and watch.
The nurses in the Transitional Care Nursery found some booties for Emma to keep her tootsies warm!
She sleeps alright but that doesn't mean she's silent!
Maddy is in 29% to 41% O2 on the CPAP and that probably won't improve until she starts making red blood cells. Madeline is now 1.180kg exactly. That's double her birth weight! She is looking a lot less wrinkly and is filling out a lot more now. She's still a very little girl but every day she gets bigger and stronger.
The nurses then found a little cap to go along with the booties and it all matches up to her sleeper nicely.
