Dr. Shafiq Qaadri is a strong advocate of quality public healthcare and education. He is a Toronto family physician, medical writer and lecturer.
A graduate of the University of Toronto Medical School, the multilingual doctor has been practicing for 16 years at his busy clinic in the west end of Toronto.
Dr. Qaadri has delivered more than 140 Continuing Medical Education (CME) lectures, and published more than 700 articles, on a wide range of topics. He is a presenter for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association and the Ontario Lung Association. He is a Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP) of the Government of Canada, and a leader in making health information understandable to the public and physicians alike.
In 2006 his international-selling book “The Testosterone Factor: A Practical Guide to Vitality and Virility, Naturally” was published in four languages, and is available in five countries. He also writes a monthly column for The Medical Post, and appears regularly on radio and television shows across Canada.
Dr. Qaadri has been a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP), representing the Toronto riding of Etobicoke North, since 2003. He has served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health Promotion and as a chair of the House’s Standing Committee on Social Policy and the Standing Committee on Justice Policy.
Dr. Qaadri and his wife live in Toronto with their two children.
