Features of RBApp

The default mode allows you to calculate BED and EQD2 from knowledge of the following parameters:

  1. -two of three of the following variables: total dose, number of fractions, dose per fraction

  2. -alpha/beta ratio

The Reset button will clear the first 3 fields and Results, and the Reset All button will clear all 4 fields and Results, as well as any additional options (units in cGy).

Basic Mode

The advanced mode will allow you to calculate all values from knowledge of at least three of the following parameters:

  1. -BED or EQD2

  2. -alpha/beta

  3. -one of three of the following variables: total dose, number of fractions, dose per fraction

The Reset button will clear all fields.

For users who want to convert between arbitrary dose-fractionations, we have created RBApp: Equivalent Dose-Fractionation available at rb3.dtsang.ca.

This web application will convert any arbitrary dose-fractionation (with total dose D1 in d1 per fraction) to another dose-fractionation with a user-defined d2 (dose per fraction). The program will then calculate D2 (total dose), given a user-defined alpha/beta.
