MIE 1404 Use Cases
Use Case 1,
Scenario 1
User enters
website address, sees main page displayed, sees the discussion board link, and
clicks it. User navigates through the classification scheme of the discussion
threads. User
finds
an appropriate discussion thread and browses through the discussion.
Use Case 1, Scenario 2
User enters
website address, sees main page displayed, and uses the Search functionality
to
find an appropriate discussion. User enters ‘France’, ‘recommend’ in the search
text box.
Clicks ‘go’. Results are displayed. User clicks one result that seems to match
his/ her intended
goal,
and browses through the messages.
Use Case 1, Scenario 3
User creates
profile and logs in. Then he/she goes to his/her personalization page and
decides to create a new discussion. User cannot
find an appropriate discussion thread and
creates his/ her own. Makes it public.
Use Case 2, Scenario 1
User finds a
trip (by clicking the ‘Random’ button), which happens to be in France,
and
clicks ‘More Like This’, which directs him/her to the advanced search results
screen
with
results similar to the criteria previously displayed.
Use Case 2, Scenario 2
User
‘explores’ some trip pages (using the menu on the left of the page- ‘France’),
sees a
trip
he/she likes, saves the trip information in his/ her profile (has previously
created a profile)
and
clicks the ‘send email’ button to send to friends and family.
Use Case 3, Scenario 1 (unavailable)
User clicks
the ‘advanced search’ link and specifies the above criteria. Results are
displayed.
User
selects a trip to see more detailed information. User would like to see a
description of
some
of the B&Bs and campgrounds listed, find out what exactly the specified Activity
Level
means, the weather, and trip reviews.
Use Case 3, Scenario 2 (unavailable)
User clicks
the ‘advanced search’ link and specifies the above criteria. Results are
displayed.
User
decides he/she wants to sort on cost, and then ‘remove’ all trips greater than
$5000.
User
then saves all remaining trips to his/ her profile, which he/she then has to
create.
Use Case 4, Scenario 1
User selects a specific city in France, then wants to see B&B's
and routes within a certain range.
User is able to mouse-over the displayed trails and obtain activity
level and destination
details. User selects one of the trails to add to his
created journey. The user saves the journey
to his/her profile.
Use Case 5, Scenario 1
User
is at Personal Page. Is already logged on. Wants to search for a group
pertaining to
the
year 2004. Enters the text ‘2004’ in the ‘Search for other user groups’
field, and
selects the ‘Both’ radial button. Clicks ‘Go’. Finds a result and subscribes
to the group.
User
returns to the manage groups page, and also wants to
browse through
the
user
groups to see what is available. Finds a group and subscribes
Use Case 5, Scenario 2
User is on Personal Page. Wants to create a new private group, then add users.
Clicks ‘Create New Group’ hyperlink and follows steps in creation of new
group.
Invites other users to the group. User modifies his name and unsubscribes from
a user group
as
well.
Use Case 5, Scenario 3
User uses chat functionality with others in a particular group.
