We decided to learn how to decorate cakes because we wanted to make our own wedding cake. Our first attempt was a disaster and so we decided to take some courses. After completing the three Wilton levels together, we were well equipped to make our wedding cake. We took it one step further and made small cakes for our center pieces. This continued on in the form of several custom cakes for family, friends, and co-workers.

We met while completing our undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Amy went on and completed an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and now works at iAnywhere Solutions in Waterloo. Derek went on and completed a Masters of Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is now completing his PhD in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto.
