Post-Operative Complications
Common complications of ileostomies:

  • obstruction, herniation and stenosis

  • peri-ileostomy abscess and fistula

  • skin irritation

  • prolapse or retraction

LATERAL OBLIQUE VIEW

The catheter has been advanced into the pouch with contrast outlining the valve. There is some contrast outlining the superior portion of the valve. This is suggestive of a ‘slipped valve’.
