- Use 9” FOV
- Ask the patient to swallow a single bolus of EZ-HD barium and
a cine mode is captured.
- Lateral followed by AP position images are taken on cine
- Use a frame rate of 3 per second and the Last Image Hold mode.
- Always start with lateral view in case patient aspirates
barium.

The patient is in the upright Left Lateral
position for an Upright Cine Cervical Esophagogram.

The lateral view will show pathology such as
aspiration, Zenker’s diverticulum, cricopharyngeal bar, etc.

This view is followed by the AP cine
esophagogram view.

Sometimes an Oblique view may be necessary
especially for Zenker’s diverticulum.
