Hysterosalpingogram
Equipment:
  • As per individual gynecologist

Images:

  • Use 9” FOV

  • Use LAST IMAGE HOLD

  • Take images as contrast fills the uterus and fallopian tubes

  • Take a last static image of the entire uterus & fallopian tube (for detailed analysis)
The images are taken using ‘last image hold’ to save on irradiating the patient. The images captured would show the sequence of contrast instillation.
Sometimes there are so many spills from one side that the other fallopian tube is obscured. Therefore multiple sequential images would help sort out such a confusion.
Coned views are necessary to decrease the radiation dose to the patient. The views on this patient could have been coned down further. This image is taken when the study is completed and to demonstrate more clearly if there is an uterine or fallopian tube abnormality.
