Summary
Diagnosis: Esophageal Carcinoma
Clinical hints:
Typically presents with progressive dysphagia and weight loss.
Higher incidence in alcoholics, smokers, achalasia, and with
Barrett's esophagus. Poor prognosis.
Radiological Pearls:
- lower 1/3 esophagus commonest
- barium swallow suspect diagnosis
- need endoscopy and biopsy
- beware of extension into stomach
