Summary
Diagnosis: "Steakhouse Syndrome"
Clinical hints:
This patient had a pre-existing benign stricture with a piece
of steak lodging above it. Hypotonic drugs, effervescent
agents, or endoscopy used to treat. Need to
deal with the underlying stricture.
Radiological Pearls:
- commonest in lower 1/3 of esoph.
- usually above stricture
- barium swallow to diagnose
- investigate cause of stricture
