Summary
Diagnosis: Fibromuscular Hyperplasia
Clinical hints:
This is an hereditary or early developmental dysplasia which
may lead to renal artery aneurysms. A cause of hypertension in
young patients. If unilateral, may treat medically; if
bilateral, surgically.
Radiological Pearls:
- may see filling defects on IVP
- may see "cystic areas" U/S
- definitive Dx: need angiogram
- typical "concertina" effect
