Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Renal Tuberculosis


Clinical hints:

This patient had Pott's Disease, tuberculosis of the spine, and a tuberculous psoas abscess. His urine was "sterile"
on routine culture media, but grew tubercle bacilli on special culture medium.


Radiological Pearls (IVP):
  • "moth eaten" calyces
     
  • "purse string" sign & strictures
     
  • extracalyceal contrast collections
     
  • autonephrectomy: ++ kidney calcn
