Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Rheumatoid Arthritis


Clinical hints:

Rheumatoid arthritis commonly involves the large joints. Joint space narrowing occurs early due to cartilage destruction. Degenerative arthritic changes inevitably develop as in this patient.


Radiological Pearls:
  • peri-articular osteoporosis
     
  • peri-articular erosions
     
  • joint space loss, joint deformities
     
  • hands and feet common sites
