Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Osteopoikilosis


Clinical hints:

A familial condition affecting both sexes. Sclerotic densities occur at the ends of longbones, especially the hands and wrists. It has an ominous sounding name, but is of no clinical significance.


Radiological Pearls:
  • commonly in hands and wrists
     
  • oval densities at the ends of bones
     
  • may affect any bone
     
  • a radiological curiosity only
