Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Parosteal Sarcoma

Clinical hints:

This is a relatively uncommon bone producing sarcoma, typically forming an exophytic mass around the knee. It attaches to the periosteum; a lucent line separates it from bone. The prognosis is better than with osteogenic sarcoma.

Radiological Pearls:
  • exophytic mass with tumor bone

  • typically involves knee

  • soft tissue component

  • "lucent line" typical finding
