Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Left Ventricular Aneurysm and Calcification

Clinical hints:

This typically follows an infarct. Healing occurs with dystrophic calcification within the myocardium itself.

Radiological Pearls:
  • calcification curvilinear

  • calcification within the heart wall

  • often in left ventricular aneurysm

  • signs of ischemia e.g. (stn. sutures)

Films were kindly provided by Dr. W. J. Weiser.
