Case Summary

Diagnosis:  PCP & Pneumothorax


Clinical hints:

Pneumothorax is a common complication of Pneumocystitis carinii pneumonia. The infiltrate here is not marked and is partially obscured by the pneumothorax.


Radiological Pearls:
  • infrahilar interstitial disease
     
  • changes may become confluent
     
  • may present with ARDS
     
  • pneumothorax common
