Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Right Upper Lobe Atelectasis (cancer)


Clinical hints:

This smoker had a central cancer occluding the right upper lobe bronchus, with almost complete right upper lobe atelectasis.


Radiological Pearls:
  • elevation of the minor fissure
     
  • retro-sternal density on lateral
     
  • elevation of the right diaphragm
     
  • look for central tumor mass
