Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Aortic Arch Aneurysm


Clinical hints:

This is usually on an atheromatous basis. Hypertension is common. If the valve ring is involved, aortic regurgitation may occur. Congestive failure may develop.


Radiological Pearls:
  • dilated aortic arch
     
  • often aortic calcification seen
     
  •  enlarged left ventricle common
     
  • may lead to failure and edema
