Summary
Diagnosis: Aspiration Pneumonia
Clinical hints:
Alcoholic, only mild fever & chills, productive cough without
grossly purulent sputum. This patient did not have
secondary bacterial pneumonia. He was lucky!
Radiological Pearls:
- focal or diffuse air space disease
- in gravitationally dependent sites
- often with secondary infection
- rapid resolution if NOT infected
