Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Bronchiectasis


Clinical hints:

History of chronic cough and sputum production typical. Repeated bouts of "pneumonia" and foul-smelling copious morning sputum common.


Radiological Pearls:
  • signs of hyperinflation
     
  • "tram tracking" and "crowding"
     
  • cystic and cavitary areas
     
  • atelectasis and pneumonia seen
