Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Chronic Histoplasmosis


Clinical hints:

These patients are asymptomatic. The x-ray tells us that they have had histoplasmosis in the past with the healed calcified granulomata remaining to tell their story.


Radiological Pearls:
  • diffuse small calcifications
     
  • rarely, calcifications in hilar nodes
     
  • rarely, chronic fibrotic changes
     
  • splenic calcifications good clue
