Diagnosis: Chronic Histoplasmosis
Clinical hints:
These patients are asymptomatic. The x-ray tells us that they
have had histoplasmosis in the past with the healed calcified
granulomata remaining to tell their story.
Radiological Pearls:
- diffuse small calcifications
- rarely, calcifications in hilar nodes
- rarely, chronic fibrotic changes
- splenic calcifications good clue
Films were kindly provided by Dr. W. J. Weiser.
