Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Intrathoracic Goitre


Clinical hints:

These patient are often asymptomatic. Symptoms are usually mechanical in origin, typically due to compression of the trachea or esophagus.


Radiological Pearls:
  • can be traced up to thoracic inlet
     
  • may affect trachea or esophagus
     
  • typically retro-sternal in position
     
  • CT very useful for diagnosis
