Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Mitral and Aortic Valve Prostheses


Clinical hints:

Play the "numbers" game. These are by far the commonest valves replaced in adults. This patient had rheumatic fever as a child.


Radiological Pearls:
  • typical location usually diagnostic
     
  • heart enlarged
     
  •  big left atrial and right ventricle
     
  • often enlarged left ventricle
