Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Mitral Stenosis


Clinical hints:

Most often history of rheumatic fever. Bouts of pulmonary edema usual. Atrial fibrillation a problem which predisposes to embolic phenomena.


Radiological Pearls:
  • enlarged LA and RV
     
  • often see: vascular redistribution
     
  • interstitial edema; alveolar edema
     
  • pleural effusions
