Summary
Diagnosis: Nitrofurantoin Lung
Clinical hints:
This patient has a background of chronic lung disease
(emphysema). He had been on long term nitrofurantoin therapy
for urinary tract infections, with diffuse drug-induced
interstitial changes seen.
Radiological Pearls:
- fibrotic changes most common
- may see bizarre patterns
- may see nodules or adenopathy
- effusions (drug-induced lupus)
