Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Pericardial Calcification


Clinical hints:

Patients will have a history usually which indicates the cause of the calcification. This patient had a pericardiotomy in the past.


Radiological Pearls:
  • calcification along heart border
     
  • typically linear or egg-shell like
     
  • may be "toothpaste"- like
     
  • often clue to etiology on x-ray
