Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Primary Tuberculosis

Clinical hints:

Tuberculosis is often misdiagnosed clinically and radiologically. It must always be considered in the differential diagnosis. Tuberculosis is a great imitator, with many presentations.

Radiological Pearls:
  • peripheral infiltrate seen, with

  • ipsilateral adenopathy

  • diffuse infiltrates common

  • pleural effusions and miliary disease sometimes seen

Films were kindly provided by Dr. W. J. Weiser.
