Diagnosis: Prosthetic Aortic Valve
Clinical hints:
This patient had a Blake-Shiley type of aortic prosthetic
valve inserted. She had a history of endocarditis involving a
bicuspid aortic valve.
Radiological Pearls:
- typical aortic valve position
- direction of flow helps identify
- x-ray defines valve type
- tissue valves: may see only suture
