Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Squamous Cell Carcinoma


Clinical hints:

Lung carcinoma is the first diagnosis in older patients. A tissue diagnosis is needed and bronchoscopic or needle biopsy will usually achieve the answer.


Radiological Pearls:
  • lung cancer usually upper lobe
     
  • metastases usually lower lobe
     
  • larger masses likely cancer
     
  • chest CT important in workup
