Case Summary

Diagnosis:  Tension Pneumothorax


Clinical hints:

This can be a medical emergency. Rapid diagnosis, and decompression of the tension pneumothorax is required.


Radiological Pearls:
  • typical "visceral pleural" sign
     
  • contralateral shifting of trachea,
     
  • heart, and mediastinum
     
  • deviation of NG tube if present
