Indictione autem . ii^a . regnante beornuulfo rege merciorum factum est pontificale et sinodale conciliabulum in loco qui dicitur Clofeshoas . Præsidente ibi rege praefato ac uenerando uiro wulfredo Archiepiscopo . illo conuentui regente Ac moderante illic omnes episcopi nostri et abbates et uniuersi mercentium principes et multi sapientissimi uiri congregati adessent . ibi in alia plura colloquia Aliqua contentio Allata est . Inter heaberhtum episcopum et illam familiam æt berclea . de hereditate æðelrici filio æðelmundi hoc est monasterium quod nominatur westburhg [sic] . Habuit autem episcopus ante nominatus terram illam cum libris . sicut æðelricus ante præcepit ut ad weogernensem aecclesiam redderetur . Statuta est autem atque decreta ab archiepiscopo et ab omni sancto sinodo illa consententia . ut episcopus qui monasterium et agellum cum libris haberet . cum iuramento dei seruorum presbiterorum diaconorum et plurimorum monachorum sibi in propriam possessionem terram illam cum adiuratione adiurasset . Et ita finita et proscripta illa contentione coram episcopo post xxx . noctes illum iuramentum to westmynstre deducatum est . Quapropter siquis hunc agrum ab illa aecclesia in ceastre nititur euellere contra decreta sacrorum canonum sciat se facere quia sancti canones decernunt quicquid sancta synodus uniuersalis cum catholico archiepsicopo suo [fo. 47v] Adiudicauerit Nullo modo fractum uel irritum esse faciendum .
