·     Fundmental understanding in processing-structure-property relationship for polymeric materials.

·     Extensive hands-on experience and skills in the fields of advanced polymeric materials processing (foam extrusion and injection molding).

·     Solid experience with equipments, machines and extruders (mechanically and electrically).

·     Expertise in the thermodynamic research of polymers, polymer blends, polymer/supercritical fluid systems (i.e. phase equilibria, gas transportation in polymer).

·    Designed and upgraded  the extrusion systems (including the mechanical design and electrical control)

·    Investigated the structure property relationships (i.e., the effect of molecular weight, molecular chain structure, chemical structure of copolymer, and composition of polymer blend on solubility and diffusivity)

·    Thermodynamic study on phase equilibria (VLE and LLE) in supercritical fluids/polymer system and phase separation (binodal nucleation and spinodal decomposition) in supercritical fluids/polymer systems

·    Researched on the gas transportation phenomena in polymer melts

·    Researched on the kinetic phenomena of supercritical CO2 induced crystallization in PC

·    Conducted research in  polymer synthesis to find the new biodegradable biomaterials with hydrophilic properties

·    Developed innovative applications of biodegradable polymer in biomedical engineering field, i.e., biodegradable hydrophilic microsphere-based carrier for large scale cell culture, etc.
