I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto. I work mainly in the philosophy of language, the philosophy of mind, and epistemology.  My current research focuses on developing a unified account of truth, disagreement, and relativism that is grounded in semantic and epistemological features of reflective thinking, including: the nature of concepts of concepts, the semantics of that-clauses, the epistemic significance of the first-person perspective, the cognitive value of the concept of truth, and the limits of objectivity and intersubjective understanding. I have also begun work on a longer term project about the comparative metaphysics, epistemology, and semantics (of thought and language) of propositions and numbers.
