Graduate Seminar in Quantitative Methods
Many graduate students in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences are conducting quantitative research studies. In order to learn from each other, I am organizing a seminar series in quantitative methods. I will kick off the seminar with a series of 4 lectures on estimating treatment effects using observational data.
Lecture #1: Friday, May 14, 2004 - 12:00pm-1:30pm, room KP 213
Lecture #2: Friday, May 21, 2004 - 12:00pm-1:30pm, room KP 213
Lecture #3: Friday, June 11, 2004 - 1:00pm-2:30pm, room KP 213
Lecture #4: Friday, June 18, 2004 - 12:00pm-1:30pm, room KP 213
All students and faculty are free to participate. The first two lectures will emphasize theoretical results while the third and fourth will use an applied example to illustrate the methods as well as the use of Stata statistical software. Participants are asked to have read over the notes in advance of the lecture.
In future lectures, participants are free to use the seminar time to present topics relating to quantitative aspects of their own research.
Hopefully this will be an informative and enjoyable event.
