Laurel Sphinx

Laurel Sphinx Sphinx kalmiae

This caterpillar was in rough shape due to all of the braconid wasp pupae that were parasitizing it. Note there is also a linyphiid spider on it as well, not sure if this is a hyper-parasite or not. I photographed this scene in Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario during August, 2005.
