ABOUT INSIG
INSIG co-founder Pam Davies in Ethiopia
The International Nursing Students Interest Group (INSIG), a subgroup of UTIHP, is a student developed and run initiative that was formed with the goal of providing University of Toronto nursing students unique opportunities to participate in nursing fellowships in developing countries. The students will learn about international health and raise awareness of global health issues by gaining hands-on experiences in health care industries in a variety of countries. Also, the students will solidify their nursing skills while concurrently providing much needed health services and education to people in need around the globe. Insig members are actively invloved in a variety of fundraising initiatives in order to make these fellowships a reality. This summer, INSIG is sending students to Cambodia, Ecuador, Honduras and India. We are also awaiting confirmation of placements in Ethiopia, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
