This device provides an electrically-compatible interface between MIDI 5-pin DIN and a PC 15-pin D-shell sound port. If you have music notation software and a MIDI keyboard, you can conect them with this device and automatically transcribe what you play on the keyboard. If you have a synthesizer you can use it to play back downloaded MIDI files or your own compositions from the computer. Several musical devices also have a function to dump their internal configuration data through the MIDI port; this data can be backed up on computer.
